 Syed Hussain Jaun Asghar Naqvi, [1] popularly known as Jaun Elia (Urdu: جون ایلیا, 14 December 1931 - 8 November 2002), was an Urdu poet, philosopher, health writer, and scholar from South Asia who traveled from India to Pakistan. He was the brother of President Amrohvi and Syed Muhammad Taqi, former journalists and psychoanalyst. He was fluent in Urdu, Arabic, English, Persian, Sanskrit and Hebrew [citation needed] One of the most prominent modern Urdu poets, most admired for his extraordinary works, "he gained knowledge of philosophy, philosophy, Islamic history, Sufi Islam. early life

Jaun Elia was born as Syed Sibt-e-Asghar Naqvi [3] on 14 December 1931 in Amroha, British India. His father, Shafiq Elia, was an astronomer and astronomer fluent in Arabic, English, Persian, Hebrew, and Sanskrit, and was accompanied by leading scholars such as Bertrand Russell. [5] She was the youngest of her siblings. President Amrohvi was his older brother. Indian film director Kamal Amrohi was his first cousin. [6]

Described as a wise child, he was originally taught at the Syed-ul-Madaris in Amroha, a madrassah associated with Darul Uloom Deoband, despite his Shia family. [7]

Being a Communist, Elijah opposed India's divisions. [8] Elijah once remarked in Pakistan that "this was the evil of the Aligarh boys". [9] [10] [11] However, he eventually moved to Pakistan in 1957, and decided to stay in Karachi. The poet Pirzada Qasim said:

Jaun was very focused on the language. Although his statement is based on ancient tradition, he touches on new topics. He had been searching for desire all his life. Unable to find good in the end, he became angry and frustrated. He felt that perhaps for some reason, he was wasting his talent. [12]

He started writing poetry at the age of eight but published his first collection, Shayad, when he was 60 years old. [13]

He married author Zahida Hina in 1970 [14] and they divorced in 1992. [15]
