Aamir Liaquat Hussain (Urdu: عامر لیاقت حسین; 5 July 1971 - 9 June 2022) was a Pakistani politician, journalist and television host. Hussain was a world-class TV producer and was three times ranked among the 500 most influential Muslims in the world, and was among the top 100 celebrities in Pakistan. [10] He has been widely criticized in the media for his controversial stereotypes about celebrities. [11] He was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 to October 2021, when he resigned from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. [12]
He previously served as a Member of the National Assembly from 2002 to 2007 and served as Minister of State for Religious Affairs from 2004 to 2007 in the cabinet of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. He died on June 9, 2022 in his living room from a stroke, according to police. His house was filled with smoke from a generator. [13]
